Attending personal counselling can be initiated during a crisis; to address ongoing maladaptive issues; to maintain mental health wellness; or to further develop growth, resilience and self-efficacy.
• A one off, 90 minute consult, can assist you to find your equilibrium and develop a plan during times of crisis, stress and anxiety. The session will establish your goals, explore the areas of stress or crisis, and support more reasoned emotional, behavioural and thought responses.
• A Package of six one hour consults (to be completed within 4 months) focuses on specific changes and assists with consolidation of newly acquired skills.
• Longer term counselling concentrates on therapeutic interventions, rather than short-term symptom relief. Sessions can begin with regular, weekly to fortnightly consults, then transition into more periodic sessions which provide a platform for maintaining your wellbeing. You may decide, for example, to transition to 4 – 6 week intervals between sessions and have a 90 minute consult instead of 60 minutes. Consults may cease for an agreed period of time, and you may decide to re-engage with Private Counselling Services as needed.
(Private Counselling Services does not advocate for unnecessary service, clients are welcome to discuss cessation at any time, however a plan to complete service is recommended).
